deep–fried ham cutlets

- 4 slices ham
- (preferably thicker than 5 mm.)
- suitable amount Worcestershire sauce
- salad oil for deep frying
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 egg
- 30 g bread crumbs
Lightly coat the ham slices with the flour in a pan.
Beat the egg in a bowl and coat the ham slices with the egg.
Then coat well with the bread crumbs in a separate pan.
Heat the oil to 170 °C and deep-fry the ham slices on each side a couple of minutes until golden brown.
Pour Worcestershire sauce over the ham cutlets.
This deep-fried dish is famous in Japan. It is more often bought at grocery store deli sections than cooked at home. The combination of ham and bread crumbs has a unique crispy texture, which the Worcestershire sauce suits well.
