Grilled Chicken & Green Soybeans Meat Patties
Ingredients

ingredients:

  • 7 ounces ground chicken
  • 2 ounces fresh green soybeans
  • (or frozen green soybeans)
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sweet sake for seasoning (mirin)
  • 1 tablespoon sake    
  • 1 tablespoon salad oil
  • a little salt (if using fresh green soybeans)
  • 1 cup water (if using fresh green soybeans)
Step 1

If using frozen green soybeans, defrost them and remove the green beans from the pods.

Step 2

If using fresh green soybeans, wash and drain them. Bring 1 cup of the water to a boil, and add the salt and green soybeans. Bring to a boil again, and boil for three to four minutes.

Drain the soybeans in a colander and remove the green beans from the pods.

Mix the soy sauce, sugar, sweet sake for seasoning (mirin) and sake in a bowl.

Mix the ground chicken, green soybeans, egg and ginger in a big bowl. Form the mixture into small balls and slightly flatten into patties.

Heat the oil in the frying pan over a medium flame and add the patties. Sear the patties for a couple of minutes. After they change color, sear the opposite side for a couple of minutes.

Add the soy sauce mixture. Sear 1 minute.

As ground chicken is used in this dish, it is very healthy.?Ground chicken contains vitamin A, vitamin B2, B6, etc. and the green soybeans include protein, vitamin B1, B2, C, etc. ?The soy sauce mixture soaks into the patties well, and with just the right sweetness makes this a very delicious dish.
