Green Soybeans Rice


  • 7 ounces fresh green soybeans
  • (or frozen green soybeans)
  • 10 ounces rice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 2/3 cups water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (if using fresh green soybeans)

If using frozen green soybeans, defrost them and remove the green beans from the pods.

If using fresh green soybeans, wash and drain them. Bring plenty of water to a boil, and add the salt and green soybeans. Bring to a boil again, and boil for three to four minutes.

Drain the soybeans in a colander and remove the green beans from the pods.

Wash the rice. Add the 1 2/3 cups water, boiled green beans (or defrosted green beans) and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Switch on the rice cooker.

After cooking, wait 5 minutes before stirring the rice mixture.
