Simmered Carrots


  • 400 g carrots
  • 2 abura-age (optional)
  • 240 ml water
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Cut the carrots into julienne slices.

Cut the abura-age in half lengthwise. Stack them and cut into 4 equal strips.

Pour the water into a pan. Add the carrots, abura-age, sugar and soy sauce. Cover and boil on a medium flame for about 15 minutes until the carrots become soft.

This dish is seasoned with soy sauce and sugar and is very delicious.
