braised japanese radish

Peel the Japanese radish and cut into 2 cm. wide slices.
Fill a small-size pan with 700 ml of the water and add the Japanese radish slices. Cover the pan and boil over medium flame for 30 minutes. Drain the Japanese radish slices in a colander.
Place the Japanese radish slices in a pan and add the remaining 200 ml water, the sugar and soy sauce. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes on low heat.
The soy sauce and sugar taste soaks into the Japanese radish and makes it very soft and delicious.
