asparagus with sesame seed dressing

ingredients:
- 3 ounces asparagus
- 2 tablespoons white sesame seeds
- 2/3 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1 cup water for boiling

step 1:
Cut off the roots of the asparagus 1 in. from the end and slice the asparagus stalks diagonally into 2 in. pieces.

step 2:
Add the water to a pan. Bring to a boil and add the asparagus. After boiling for about 5 minutes, drain the asparagus.

step 3:
Parch the sesame seeds over medium-high heat until they crackle and pop.

step 4:
Put them in an earthenware mortar (suribachi) or food processor and grind.

step 5:
Mix the ground sesame seeds, soy sauce and sugar in a bowl.

step 6:
Add the asparagus to the sesame seeds mixture and mix.

The taste of white sesame dressing suits the asparagus well and is very rich.
