Deep-Fried Potato Patties


  • 21 ounces potatoes
  • 3 teaspoons potato starch
  • a little salt
  • 3 quarts water
  • 1 1/2 cups salad oil
Step 1

Pour the water into a pan and add the potatoes. Boil for 30 minutes. After boiling, peel the potatoes. Mash them and cool for more than 20 minutes.

Mix the mashed potatoes and the potato starch in a bowl. Form into 8 balls, and then press into round-shaped patties.

Heat the oil to 340°F and deep-fry the potato patties for a couple of minutes. Remove from the pan and drain on a rack.


Sprinkle the salt over the top.


By deep-frying the mixture of mashed potatoes and potato starch, the surface is crispy and the inside is sticky. The combination has a good taste.
