- 21 ounces potatoes
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 liter water
Peel the potatoes and cut into 1 1/4 in. cubes.
Pour the water into a pan and add the potato cubes. Cover and boil for 25 to 30 minutes on medium heat until they become soft. Remove from the heat. Drain the water from the pan.
Cover the pan and saute the potatoes on low heat. Shake until there is no remaining water. Remove from the heat. Add the salt and shake again.
This dish is very popular in Japan. A frosted coating appears on the potatoes through the cooking method described.
