ingredients:
- 7 ounces japanese radish (daikon)
- 7 ounces pork
- 1 tablespoon red miso
- 1 tablespoon sake
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon salad oil

step 1:
Peel the Japanese radish and cut into 1/4 in. wide slices. Cut them into 4 quarters. Cut the pork into bite-size pieces.

step 2:
Mix the red miso, sugar and sake in a bowl.

step 3:
Heat the oil in a frying pan over a medium flame and add the Japanese radish (daikon). Sear it about 6 minutes.

step 4:
Add the pork and sear for about 3 minutes, sometimes stirring.

step 5:
Add the miso mixture. Mix and saute for 1 minute. Remove from the heat.

comment:
The sugar used in this delicious dish removes the normally bitter taste of red miso. The taste soaks into the Japanese radish (daikon) and pork very well.
