- 480 g cooked thick white noodles
- 1 to 1 1/3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 liters water (if preparing hot noodles)
- If you want, you can also add your favorite condiments, e.g., bonito flakes, chopped green onion or leek, grated ginger, shichimi (seven-spice seasoning).

This recipe can be eaten cold or hot. To prepare cold noodles, go to Step 3. For hot noodles, pour the water into a pan. Bring to a boil and add the noodles.

Boil about one minute. After boiling, Remove the noodles and drain them in a colander.

Divide the noodles among 2 serving bowls. Sprinkle the thick white noodles (udon) with your favorite condiment(s).
Pour the soy sauce over the noodles.
