Heat the salad oil in a frying pan and sear the fried noodles on medium heat. Stir them for a couple of minutes.
Remove from the pan and place on each serving dish.
Pour the mapo tofu over the noodles.
This dish is unusual and is only served at Chinese restaurants in Sendai City in Miyagi Prefecture. They say that it was originally served for staff meal at one Chinese restaurant in the 1970s from where it got its start. Miyagi Prefecture is in the Tōhoku region in northeastern Japan.
