bean sprouts with sesame seed dressing

ingredients:
- 14 ounces bean sprouts
- 2 quarts water for boiling
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 3 tablespoons white sesame seeds
step 1:
Parch the sesame seeds over medium-high heat until they crackle and pop.
step 2:
Put them in an earthenware mortar (suribachi) or food processor and grind.
step 3:
Mix the ground sesame seeds, soy sauce and sugar in a bowl.
step 4:
Add the water to a pan. Bring to a boil and add the bean sprouts.
step 5:
After boiling for about 5 minutes, drain the bean sprouts. Immerse in cold water for 1 minute.
step 6:
Drain the cold water from the bean sprouts. Squeeze out any excess water with your hands.
step 7:
Add the bean sprouts to the sesame seeds mixture and mix.
comment:
Bean sprouts by themselves taste very plain. By adding ground sesame seeds, soy sauce and sugar they taste delicious and smell good, too!
