Frosted Potatoes with Butter

  • 600 g potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon salt
  • a little pepper
  • 1 liter water

Peel the potatoes and cut into 3 cm. cubes.

Pour the water into a pan and add the potato cubes. Cover and boil for 25 to 30 minutes on medium heat until they become soft. Remove from the heat. Drain the water from the pan.

Cover the pan and saute the potatoes on low heat. Shake until there is no remaining water. Remove from the heat. Add the butter, salt and pepper, and shake again.

Batā no kofuki-imo

The seasoning for this type of recipe is traditionally only salt (Frosted Potatoes). However, also adding butter is recently popular. The butter flavor increases appetite.
