- 1 tablespoon miso
- or 2 teaspoons soy sauce
- 1/6 ounce bonito flakes
- 1/3 ounce long green onion
- 4/5 cup hot water
step 1:
Thinly slice the long green onion.
step 2:
Place the mugi miso, bonito flakes and long green onion in a serving bowl.
step 3:
Pour the hot water into the serving bowl and mix until the miso is dissolved.

This miso soup is a very easy recipe and is very popular in Okinawa. “Kachū” in Okinawa dialect means “bonito flakes.” Okinawa is a small island and, being located about 400 miles from the mainland, is the most southwest of prefectures in Japan.
