ingredients:
- 2/3 ounce dried hijiki
- 3 1/2 ounces thinly sliced pork
- 4 in. or 2/3 ounce leek or green onion
- 2 servings cold steamed rice
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons soup stock powder (chicken, Chinese or bonito) (optional)
- 1 tablespoon salad oil
- a little salt
- a little pepper
- 2 cups water for soaking
step 1:
Soak the dried hijiki in the 2 cups of water in a bowl for 30 minutes. Remove and drain.
step 2:
Cut the pork into bite-size pieces. Chop the leek (or green onion).
step 3:
Heat the oil in a frying pan (or wok) and add the pork.
step 4:
After the meat changes color, add the cold rice, the hijiki and the leek (or green onion) and saute while stirring for 1 minute on high heat.
step 5:
Add the soup stock powder (optional), salt, pepper and soy sauce, and stir on high heat for another minute.
Serve in a dish.

The flavor of the hijiki goes well with the soy sauce taste of the rice and pork and make this a delicious dish.
