Fried Eggs with Soy Sauce


  • 2 eggs
  • a suitable amount soy sauce
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons water
  • 1/2 tablespoon salad oil

Heat a frying pan on medium flame and add the oil. Add the eggs.

After the white of the eggs changes color, pour the water around the eggs and cover the pan. Heat for 1 minute until the surface of the yolk becomes white. If you want harder eggs, cook longer.

Medama-yaki shōyu-gake

Pour the soy sauce over the eggs.


Pouring soy sauce over a fried egg is very popular in Japan. It goes very well with eggs.
