ingredients:
- 150 g glutinous rice or regular rice
- 320 g mashed sweetened red bean
- paste (anko)
- 160 ml water (if using glutinous rice) or 200 ml (if using regular rice)
step 1:
Wash the rice. Drain the water and leave the rice in the colander 1 hour to completely remove all the water. Add the 160 ml or 200 ml water to the rice cooker pot. Switch on the rice cooker.
step 2:
After it's cooked, put the hot steamed rice into a large bowl. Mash it until reaches coarse texture.
step 3:
Form into 8 barrel-shaped patties.
step 4:
Place the mashed sweetened red bean paste in a bowl or saucer. Coat the rice patties well with the mashed sweetened red bean paste.

Ohagi is a very popular Japanese sweet. It originally was eaten during Ohigan (the equinoctial week in which Buddhist services are performed). The combination of sticky rice and anko (mashed sweetened red bean paste) is very delicious.
