- 3 1/2 ounces hard tofu
- 1 teaspoon salad oil
Wrap the tofu in a paper towel. Put on it in a tray. Place a folded kitchen towel under one side of the tray and lean the tray on it. Let sit for about 15 minutes.
Mix the miso, sugar and sweet sake for seasoning (mirin) in a dish. Warm it in a microwave.
Cut the tofu into bite-size pieces.
Insert a stick into each piece.
Heat the salad oil in a frying pan. Pan-broil both sides of the tofu pieces until they turn brown. Remove from the pan.
Pour the miso sauce over the broiled tofu pieces.
