Tuna, Wasabi & Mayonnaise Rice Ball

  • 2 servings (120 g each) hot steamed rice
  • 1 toasted dried laver (nori)
  • 20 g canned tuna (with oil)
  • 1 teaspoon wasabi
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons mayonnaise
  • 2/3 to 1 teaspoon salt
Step 1

Drain the oil from the tuna and place the tuna in a bowl. Add the wasabi and mayonnaise to the tuna and mix.

Put 120 g steamed rice on a square of plastic wrap. Make a hollow in the center of the steamed rice and put the tuna and mayonnaise mixture there.

Wrap the steamed rice in the plastic wrap and press into desired shape (triangular, ball or cylindrical).

Step 4

Remove the plastic wrap and sprinkle 1/3 to 1/2 teaspoon salt over the whole rice ball.

Wrap the toasted dried dried laver (nori) around the rice ball. For triangle and ball shapes, use 6 cm. × 18 cm. size. For cylindrical shape, use 4 cm. × 11 cm. size.
