Yakisoba (fried noodles) is a very popular home cooked dish in Japan. Generally, yakisoba means frying steamed noodles, sliced pork and cabbage with Worcestershire sauce. Most Japanese dishes have a soy sauce taste. However, yakisoba is unique because it has a Worcestershire sauce taste. There are famous dishes with a yakisoba twist. Omu-yakisoba is an omelet stuffed with yakisoba. Yakisoba-pan is a hot dog bun filled with yakisoba. There is also yakisoba instant noodles, and two types are available - in soft plastic packages and in trays. To make the packaged noodles, they are put into hot water in a frying pan and cooked with meat and vegetables. To make the tray type, hot water is added and then drained after a few minutes.
