fusilli & hijiki salad

ingredients:

  • 3 1/2 ounces fusilli
  • 1/3 ounce dried hijiki
  • 3 slices ham
  • 4 ounces cucumbers
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • a little salt
  • 1 cup water for soaking hijiki
  • 1 quart water for boiling fusilli

optional:

  • 2 ounces corn
  • 2 1/2 ounces sliced onion

step 1:

Soak the dried hijiki in the 1 cup of water in a bowl for 30 minutes. Remove and drain. Squeeze out any excess water with your hands.

step 2:

Thinly slice the cucumbers. Cut the ham into bite-size pieces.

step 3:

Pour the 1 quart of water into a pan. Bring to a boil and add the fusilli. After boiling, drain the fusilli in a colander.

step 4:

Put the fusilli, hijiki, cucumbers, ham, salt and mayonnaise in a bowl. Mix them.

This is a very light salad. If you like, add corn or onion.
