ingredients:
- 240 g potatoes
- 200 g ground pork or chicken
- 2 teaspoons grated ginger
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 480 ml water
- 2 tablespoons potato starch (katakuriko)
- 2 tablespoons water (for dissolving potato starch)

step 1:
Peel the potatoes; cut them into 4 to 6 cubes.

step 2:
Place the water in a pot. Add the potatoes, ground meat, grated ginger, sugar and soy sauce. Simmer for about 30 minutes on medium-low heat until the potatoes become soft.

step 3:
Dissolve the potato starch in the 2 tablespoons of water. Add the dissolved potato starch to the pot. Stir a few times until it becomes creamy.

comment:
The ground meat makes the stock mild and the taste soaks into the potatoes.
