

ingredients:
- 2 servings (120 g each)
- hot steamed rice
- 1 toasted dried laver (nori)
- 2 small pickled plums
- (umeboshi)
- 2/3 to 1 teaspoon salt

step 1:
Put 120 g steamed rice on a square of plastic wrap. Make a hollow in the center of the steamed rice and put a pickled plum there.

step 2:
Wrap the steamed rice in the plastic wrap and press into desired shape (triangular, ball or cylindrical).

step 3:
Remove the plastic wrap and sprinkle 1/3 to 1/2 teaspoon salt over the whole rice ball.

step 4:
Wrap the toasted dried laver (nori) around the rice ball. For triangle and ball shapes, use 6cm. × 18cm. size. For cylindrical shape, use 4cm. × 11 cm. size.

Rice ball is often used in box lunches for a picnic. Umeboshi is the most standard ingredient of rice balls and this rice ball is delicious.
