beef & ginger-seasoned rice

ingredients:

  • 7 ounces thinly sliced beef
  • 1 ounce ginger
  • 10 ounces rice
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sake
  • 1 2/3 cups water

step 1:

Cut the beef into bite-size pieces. Peel and cut the ginger into julienne slices.

step 2:

Wash the rice. Add the water, beef, ginger, soy sauce and sake. Switch on the rice cooker.

step 3:

After cooking, wait 5 minutes before stirring the rice mixture.

Ginger suits beef very well and brings out umami (savory taste) of the beef. This is a very simple dish.
