Our Yakisoba recipe
There is a Japanese dish called omusoba (omuyakisoba). Omu stands for omurice (Japanese for “omelette rice”), and it is a dish of fried rice seasoned with ketchup with bite-sized chicken and chopped onions, wrapped in an egg and looking like an omelette. Soba stands for yakisoba, which is a Japanese dish of steamed Chinese noodles stir-fried with meat and vegetables and seasoned with Worcestershire sauce. In short, Omusoba is a Japanese dish of yakisoba wrapped in egg. Ketchup and mayonnaise are usually spread over it. Omusoba is one of the most calorie-dense and hearty Japanese dishes. Omusoba does not seem to be made very often at home because of the time and effort required to make yakisoba and the additional skill required to wrap it in egg. Omusoba can be found in restaurants and supermarkets in the prepared foods section and is also sold as a frozen food. If you are interested in Omusoba, we have the recipe for you to cook.
