ice cream with matcha

ingredients:

  • 1 serving ice cream (vanilla
  • or green tea)
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon matcha
  • powder
  • 60 ml 80 °C hot water
  • 1 mint leaf (optional)

step 1:

Put the matcha powder in a small bowl. Add the hot water. Stir to dissolve the matcha powder.

step 2:

Place the ice cream on a serving dish or in a cup.

Pour the matcha tea over the ice cream, and put the mint leaf on the ice cream (optional).

This dessert using matcha is fashioned after an Italian dessert called affogato where hot espresso is poured over vanilla gelato or ice cream. The bitterness of matcha goes well with the sweetness of ice cream.
