Instant miso soup
Dried ingredients and miso
Cup type miso soup
Miso soup is the most representative soup of Japanese cuisine, and many Japanese cook and eat miso soup every day. The regular method of cooking miso soup is to boil some ingredients in bonito soup stock and then dissolve miso into that. Because this can be time-consuming, some people prepare instant miso soup instead. It is usually sold in two forms – small foil packets which contain dried ingredients, powdered soup stock and miso, and a cup type, which can be made anywhere simply by pouring hot water into it. Instant miso soup is easy to make, so why not look for it at a supermarket or convenience store? It can be stored for a long time, so you can bring it home as a souvenir from Japan.
