Our shabu-shabu
Our ramen
Our shrimp tempura
Our website, J-Simple Recipes, has continued to offer Japanese recipes from July 14, 2008, and we just had our ten-year anniversary the other day. Thank you very much for your continued support. When we first started ten years ago, it seemed that many people were interested in Japanese food. But, after 2013, when UNESCO registered Japanese food as an intangible cultural heritage, it became even more popular. Actually, according to a report of the Japanese government's tourism agency, most foreign visitors before coming to Japan say they are mainly interested in eating Japanese food. It seems the most popular items were ramen, yakitori, okonomiyaki, wagyu (Japanese beef) dishes such as shabu-shabu and sukiyaki rather than traditional dishes such as sushi, tempura and sashimi. More recently, even home-cooked dishes such as Japanese curry & rice, tonkatsu (deep–fried breaded pork cutlet) and tori no karaage (Japanese deep-fried chicken nuggets) seem to be popular. That makes us think that more people are cooking Japanese food themselves. Recipes on our website have increased from 30 at the beginning to over 600 now, including the dishes mentioned above. If you wish, please send us any requests, opinions or pictures about cooking Japanese food. We hope you continue to read and enjoy our website and can learn to cook good Japanese dishes with our help.
