ingredients:
- 7 ounces broccoli
- 3 tablespoons white sesame seeds or 2 tablespoons ground toasted sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons sugar

step 1:
Divide the broccoli into small florets (including stems, if desired). If you don't eat broccoli raw, put the broccoli in a heat-resistant container or on a plate and cover with a plastic wrap. Heat in a microwave oven to the desired softness.

step 2:
If using the white sesame seeds, parch them in a frying pan over medium-high heat until they crackle and pop.

step 3:
Put them in an earthenware mortar (suribachi) or food processor and crush. Add the soy sauce and sugar, then blend well. Put this mixture in a bowl. If using the ground toasted sesame seeds, place the sesame seeds, soy sauce and sugar in a bowl, then blend well.

step 4:
Add the broccoli to the mixture (Step 3) and mix.

comment:
The use of Japanese sesame seed dressing for broccoli is unique. This dressing is healthy because it uses no oil. It also has a nice sesame flavor.
