ingredients:
- 400 g ground beef
- 400 g onion
- 1 egg
- a little salt
- a little pepper
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 3 tablespoons bread crumbs
- 2 tablespoons salad oil
teriyaki sauce:
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 5 tablespoons sweet sake for seasoning (mirin)
- 5 tablespoons sake

step 1:
Chop the onion. Heat 1 tablespoon of the salad oil in a frying pan over a medium flame and sear the onion. After it becomes clear, remove from the heat and cool for more than 20 minutes.

step 2:
Beat the egg and mix with the ground beef, seared onion, bread crumbs, salt, pepper and nutmeg in a big bowl. Form into 4 balls and flatten into patties.

step 3:
Heat the remaining tablespoon of oil in the frying pan over a medium flame and add the patties. Cover and sear the patties for a couple of minutes.

step 4:
After they change color, sear the opposite side for a couple of minutes. Leave in the pan.

step 5:
Combine the ingredients for the teriyaki sauce in a bowl.

step 6:
Reheat the frying pan over a low flame, and add the teriyaki sauce. Simmer the patties in the sauce for about 7 minutes.

Place the hamburger steak patties on serving plates and pour the teriyaki sauce over them.
comment:
The sauce suits the hamburger steak well, and is delicious even when put between two slices of bread.
